The First Brick: A Workshop of a Few Hundred Square Meters, and a Dream to Join the Nation’s Rising Tide
On the occasion of its 26th anniversary, Truong Duong Group is honored to share with our customers and partners a series titled “26 Years of Truong Duong: The Unity Over Waves Journey” — named after the theme of the company’s recent team-building trip — as we look back on the road we have traveled.
Looking at Truong Duong’s diverse brand ecosystem today, few would guess that this “wave-crossing” journey began 26 years ago from a truly modest starting point: a small garment production household.
In 1998, in the middle of Tan Binh Industrial Park, our very first facility measured less than 1,000 square meters and employed fewer than 20 workers. In 2000, Vietnam’s Enterprise Law officially took effect, breathing new life into private businesses nationwide. That same year, Truong Duong was formally incorporated under the name Truong Duong Production – Service – Trading Co., Ltd.
Anchored by Quality, Grounded in Wholeheartedness
As Vietnam opened its doors to international integration, new opportunities came hand in hand with new challenges. Amid fierce market competition, Truong Duong held firmly to one guiding principle: orders might still be few, but quality had to be absolute.
It was precisely this wholeheartedness and integrity in every product that built our reputation and carried Truong Duong step by step out toward the world stage:
- From 2002: Truong Duong caught the attention of global retail groups such as K-Mart, Sears, and Li & Fung — large-scale orders began arriving in steady succession.
- In 2006: Truong Duong made a major leap forward, expanding its factory to 10,000 square meters with a workforce of 300–400 employees. This was also the year we proudly became a direct manufacturing partner of the international fashion brand Mango (Spain), along with several other brands.
To sustain these high-value partnerships, Truong Duong’s facilities repeatedly passed the most rigorous audits from leading global organizations such as SGS and Bureau Veritas (BV) — not only on product quality, but also on our code of ethical conduct and on providing safe working conditions for our employees.
Proud to Be a Small Part of Vietnam’s Economic Story
As a business that rose up from hardship, Truong Duong has always taken pride in seeing a reflection of itself in the nation’s remarkable economic transformation. We understand that every garment successfully exported carries value not only for our company, but also serves as a small brick in building Vietnam’s national brand on the world map.
The Truong Duong ship has weathered no shortage of fierce waves over the years: from the 2007–2008 global financial crisis to the 2019–2020 pandemic. But no matter how large the waves, as long as our people remain united in spirit — “Unity Over Waves” — that ship will continue to sail forward with resolve.
